Class to honor Betty Criswell for 70 years

DALLAS?The women of Betty Criswell’s Bible study class at First Baptist Church of Dallas are planning a reception Nov. 23 to honor her for 70 years of teaching God’s word.

The reception will be from 3 to 5:30 p.m. in Coleman Hall on the church campus, 1707 San Jacinto.

Criswell, widow of the late W.A. Criswell, longtime pastor of First Baptist Church of Dallas, still teaches the Bible to her class of 300 every Sunday at age 90 and to a radio audience in Texas and Oklahoma.

Children’s facilities will be available at 4 p.m. and transportation for those needing it can be obtained by calling the church office. Guests are encouraged to bring a card or note expressing love and gratitude for Criswell’s service. A closed-circuit television will be provided for those outside Coleman Hall.

The reception will include special guests, music, entertainment and refreshments. Also, a keepsake gift will be given to every woman who attends.
